Does anyone know if B & Q still have a policy on matching or even bettering competitors prices - if so please post a link.

It's in their brochures - page 58 of this one (pdf download)
Price promise
You won’t find it cheaper... but if you do we’ll refund
the difference and give you 10% off the lower price.
Now that’s a price promise!
We’re so confident our prices in-store are cheaper
than our competitors’, that if you buy a product from
us and find the same product (or equivalent in the
case of the B&Q brand) available locally for less –
even if it’s a sale or special offer price – we’ll not
just match that price but we’ll beat the lower price
by a further 10% for your trouble. All we ask is that
the lower price is generally available to any potential
customer on the day that you call back, within 14
days of purchase, with a proof of purchase. Please
ask in-store for full terms and conditions.0 -
Do you know if this also applies to their Appliance site?
I am looking for a Bosch tumble dryer model WTE84306GB - its £579 on the B & Q appliance site but only £379 at John Lewis (which is within 10 miles of B & Q) so effectively I might get the dryer for £379 - £37.90 (10%) = £341.10.....a very good price indeed!:T
PS Bosch automatically provide a 2 year guarantee so no real advantage buying at John Lewis (other than excellent customer service)!0 -
Aargh I spoke too soon. Spent ages with B & Q 'customer services' who refused on the basis that the machine in John Lewis is not available to take away when I buy it! It is delivery only - just the same as at B & Q only JL delivers quicker. I of course challenged the CS staff and B & Q head office to show me where it states this in price promise - needless to say they coudnt.
I have now bought at JL delivery on Thursday - excellent CS as usual from them.
I am considering an approach to trading standards though.:(0 -
Since you've paid £379 you wont want to look at this0
