www . audible . co . uk are offering a free audiobook download to new subscribers

Click on www . audible . co . uk / xmas to access the deal.

You have to sign up for membership, with a card number, before you can download the audiobook, but if you cancel within 14 days it costs nothing.

The trick is to do it all at once... I signed up, downloaded the book (took 10 mins) and then cancelled, all in the same session.

Offer ends 31/03 so still some time.

PS First time poster so excuse me if I've made a newbie error or this has been posted before.

PPS Forum wont let me post the link, there are lots of spaces in the addresses.... I'm sure you'll work it out! :)

I know most people have already done this but I hope it helps somebody... :D

(I'm a new user so can't post links sorry)

I can never get this to work. It doesn't like my card associated with Amazon ...

yeah they want them so you can't do it multiple times...
its a reputable company so I trust them and after I'd cancelled my membership, I just deleted the card details from my account...

  • Hi folks

Thought I'd better come on and warn of the dark side of Audible, as I had originally posted this link to the site.

Just be aware that should you decide to stay a member, that any 'credits' you have WILL "EXPIRE" after six months.

This means that Audible just delete the credit and ... keep your money. They call it 'Use it or lose it'. By that they mean "We're just gonna keep your money".

If you find you have unused credits you can call Audible and 'freeze' your account so they don't add any more credits, but they will NOT do this automatically - what they will do is just keep taking your monthly payment and then, er, pocketing it with no return to you.

If you find yourself in this position DO NOT cancel your subscription!
After the red mist lifts you'll find that cancelling also cancels ALL your existing credits - with no refund. Use the credits first and then cancel.

Personally I think that Audible/ Amazon are doing well enough not to have me 'gift' them UKP 8 every month, and I do think it cynical that they'll stop the practise but only if you ask them.

Of course these terms are available on the web. Go to your account, click help, click a tiny link in the corner, click FAQ, click question 8 and after a new page opens it tells you all about it! DUH! How did I miss that?

    Peace!
    R

( PS You might guess by my spelling why I'm such a big fan of audio books! LOL)

I have just come across an Audible deal for every single person to get an audible book of a copy of their choice. You register for audible for free 30 days in order to receive it, but pay no money whatsoever. You then need to cancel your subscription but you still get the book.

Get your free audible book from audible.co.uk/competwition
