Not being paid wages.

I started work for a certain matalan store bristol filton and after 2 shift i i decided it was not for me as they never had a clue.i done around 10.5 hours including indution.

I was suppose to be paid on the 7th. No excuse but i know it had not been put through.
Was told i would now get paid on the 21st. Excuse is they sent a fax and have proof but i do not think this is the case. I said i will ring hr and she said dont do that why would you want to do that lol.
After being given the run around by admin on he 21st i was assured i would definately be paid today 24th . Ho hum again nothing.

I am sure it is being done on purpose as i left the same week i started where do i stand? what can i do?

What do you mean, they never had a clue.

Did you just walk out and just didnt bother to go back.
Did you hand in any notice, i presume you didnt work any notice.

Maybe they are doing it on purpose, but I doubt it.

You are intitled to the money you worked for. If you just walked out it will be hard for you to prove what happened hence them not bothering to pay you.

I would write to them asking for payment, or else court action. It will cost them more in the long run. Sounds like a crap job anyway.

It's not professional to just walk out though on balance, at least tell the boss finish the notice ie a week and leave that way you get paid.

Its not only unprofessional, it irresponsible and immature. A jobs a job, if you dont like it just keep it till something better comes along.

So they are clearly not disputing the fact that they owe you the money, as they claim to have sent a fax regarding the payment, and stated that payment would be made on the 21st and then on the 24th. I think that my next step would be to send them a letter (Recorded Delivery) listing all of these details, and requesting that payment be made by a certain date, or you will be forced to take further action. If that fails, next step is CAB.
