Hi, i was offered a job temp for 13 weeks, i received a letter confirming this. 3 weeks later i received a contrract. under the heading temporary it stated not applicable. under hours worked it gave me my hours, pay, job titile. i asked a supervisor who said looks like you are now permantent. i signed contract. last week i was sent a letter to say thank you for working with us your temp contract has now ended. i spoke to personal say ing i had a full contract and showed her, she said no in your offer letter it stated temp dont need on contract. i have since turned doen a permanent job due to thinking i was now taken on. Personel said i should have spoke to them, but i thought team leader would have known???? They do not have a copy of my contract (But i do) Where do i stand, and what do i do next. If they sent out the incorrect paperwork then thats their fault especially if its signed and you received a separate letter stating you was permanent. I would kindly ask them for severance pay for the other role and any other outstanding payments by the end of the month.
There is an issue with the offer letter. The offer letter is saying you have a job them, however the contract is legally binding and marries the two. Seek legal advice on this, or if your strapped go to the citizens advice for assistance.
This doesn't sound like a good employer. The harder one works the luckier one gets!0 -
Utter crap.
The contract was Fixed term for 13 weeks. This isn't necessary temporary. Its a permanent Fixed term 13 week position. You were offered a 13 week job and thats what you accepted.
Trying to use ambigious paperwork to stay on is farcicle. Don't start anything before your reference becomes less than favourable.
Supervisors rarely are anything more than 10p an hour extra to be the person to be shouted at to save proper management doing it.0 -
Mr Redundant is correct. Sorry
Even if they did set you on permanent you can be got rid of anytime during your first 12 months anyway, I would just move on missus.
