BT land line - one years payment in advance

Just noticed on my latest statement that BT are offering "over £39.60" off your annual land line charge if you pay the full year's payment in advance.
However, it's worth reading the small print and that saving is reduced by £15.00 if you do sign up to it by the simple fact that you lose your £1.25 a month discount for opting to have paper less billing.
With many, many people already signed up to paperless billing the real annual saving is only around two quid a month and in my opinion not worth the hassle of making the change and forking out £120 in advance!

And don't forget:Line Rental Saver. Available to BT Calling Plan customers paying £119.88 for 12 months in advance by debit/credit card – equivalent to £9.99 a month (Full price changed to £119.88 on 13/11/10). Any additional charges to be paid by Direct Debit with e-billing (previous discount for the latter will no longer apply). At least two BT calls must be made per month or six BT calls per quarter to avoid a monthly charge of £1.50 or a quarterly charge of £4.50 being added to your bill.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
