oh dear the boots sale in Oxford starts at 10.30am... that's late enough for all and sundry to be up and about and ready to beat me to the bargains... can you spend boots points online or just in the stores? if so I will use the online shop and avoid the crowds tomorrow!

Sadly you can only spend your points instore. I wish they'd change this and have telephoned Customer Services a few times to point out that it's unfair if you can't get to a store that stocks what you want and you've built up a lot of points.
Their reply was along the lines of "it would be very difficult to administer, requiring your Advantage Card details". I said that wasn't difficult, because they have all your details anyway! :T
The reply was a vague "I'll mention it", but I don't think they ever do.
