these look great but be very careful with younger children - if the magnets break off and are digested (they are very small) they can kill. They are serious about it being for age 6 plus - there was a US voluntary recall after a death

I have a 12 year old that would love this and was going to get it but after reading that i wont as i have a miscevious 21 month old too that eats bits he finds on the floor all the time & despite telling older kids not to leave bits around i know they will as these magnetic bits are so small and its not worth the risk(there are pleanty of other toys out there that my 12 year old would like!). Thanks again.
  • Picked these 2 up today! Thanks :)

We keep a very large electromagnet in the dining room....it makes getting the kids to actually come & sit down at the dinner table a whole lot easier.
  • I saw this thread & was going to get it as a xmas pressie for my nephew (who's 5).
Went to Argos tonight & saw the box on a shelf for the "glow in the dark" version but OH thinks it's too "boring" as he thinks nephew will get soooo much stuff that he (& his parents!) will just ignore this. He thinks that something with a bit more wow factor (like a "cars" car) will be better. I think that the magnetix will be something he will come back to again & again, and will be educational to boot!

Can anyone help me win the argument?! ;)

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have a son who is almost 13yrs old. Will this be suitable for him, or is he too old for it? It looks good, but is it enough to keep him interested...you know what kids are like thesedays, only want to play video games!

    thanks
