Frozen butternut squash ...

Options
By which I mean, a butternut squash which was in the outside fridge when things got so cold that it froze inside the fridge. I have brought it in to see if I can salvage it. It was extremely easy to cut, and the flesh is frozen on the inside.

Would I still be able to use it to make soup? It only needs to taste ok, how it looks isn't an issue.

The other veges affected include a turnip (which should surely be ok, as they are allowed to freeze in the field, aren't they?) and some carrots (ditto?).

The BNS will be absolutely fine for soup, but you'll find it won't keep more than a few days after defrosting. The turnips should be unaffected, but you may find the carrots have a little less crunch to them when they defrost as they have quite a high water content which is broken down by freezing.

All still perfectly edible now though.
