And 16 as Hulk0

Thanks to red1028 for the answers.
I have just finished working all the answers out for myself only to realise you have kindly beaten me to it. Upon checking my notes with your post I think I have found a small error  ...
Q4 relates to the name of the dog, the boy is worried about in the Swedish film My Life as a Dog.
After some digging I found the answer to be the Russian space dog Laika (not Sickan).
Not wanting to be negative towards all the research red1028 must have done but any of you clever people in MSE land able to confirm if I have the correct answer?
Cheers

dmuk has raised a good point about question 16 however I suspect that there is an error with the question that the Independent have posted.
I agree with dmuk that Hulk was a 2003 Ang Lee film.
I also agree with red1028 as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon grossed $128 million in the United States.
... ...
As the quiz is based on World Cinema I will opt to go with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon even though it had a 2000 release date.
Cheers

Question 4: The dog's name is definitely Sickan, although there are references to Laika in the film. The following review can be viewed by following the link below:
...Nevertheless, the tragic condition of Ingemar's mother (and later, the indeterminate fate of Sickan, his beloved dog, consigned to a kennel) hovers over the narrative...

Question 16: The IMDB has Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon as 2003, although I remember it as being earlier. Perhaps that was when it was released in the States?

Question 4 could relate to either dog. Poor question tbh.
Question 16 does seem a mistake, Crouching Tiger was released in 2000, the link you have given us is for the video game.
We could all email the newspaper and they'll publish the answers on the site for those questions, but then again... they probably won't.0 -
Wow! thanks all you film buffs - I'm wondering which free film to try for if the codes are all posted. Any recommendations? (I'm a bit wimpy and don't like too much 'realism'! :0)0

I think someone's posted the answers to the quiz in the competitions forum as I've entered the comp... not sure what the answers were though :rotfl:
look forward to the remaining code  and I can highly recommend Hotel Rwanda but not sure if it's too 'real' for you smallblue but considering it's about the Rwandan genocide it is still uplifting in amongst the gore. If you want something sweet though Amelie is just gorgeous!0 -
