Legendmum hope your son enjoys his trip to the school.
Michelle sounds like you were having a fun day yesterday.
Legoland Elysia I am so jealous I would love to go there!
Rufus hope it all goes ok and your daughter has a nice time.
It was a strange day yesterday having my son at school for a full day. Managed to get a bit done online. It has been a quiet start this morning got one survey on iPsOs and that’s it!GC 2015: Aug £272.21 /£300 Sept £112.41 /£300
NSD Aug: 6/12 Sept: 3 /100 -
Morning everyone - sorry i have not been on the past few days, just seem to be chasing my tail. I have my childminding briefing session today, i cant wait to get started - stepmum, what stage are you up to?
I have been busy writing policies etc - well drafting them to get a head start.
money making is a little slow, but i did manage to sell my old dining room table complete with pen marks etc for £17 - very happy with that.
I only have 2 more weeks of teaching and that is it for me, I am hopign to find a very very cheap holiday, was going to see if i could get a sun holiday and was going to book online, but reading the thread they said you could only do that if you had booked one before, and i have not been collecting the tokens - aghhh well.
hopefully i will do better with the surveys today, I have decided to give writing reviews a miss from now on as it takes up far too much of my time away from the kids and getting other things done, plus too much time on the computer was making me feel awful. ok off now to get sorted0 -
Hi knit, morning everyone.
Yesterday was not fun. I am going to try and hold out hope for a better day today.
Knit - just do what is for you hon. the child minding stuff sounds more profitable anyway, and any points earned on DY are valid for a year, so you can always have a low aim of you do want to cash out.
rufus i hope the train is ok. I managed to tip the buggy wheels down the gap between train and platform, and drop DS2 onto the platform on his face. This was when he was just 2, and I just couldn't stop it all falling, and ended up only just managing not to fall on top of him and the buggy as well. I hate travelling by train. So much to worry about.
elysia didn't you have ponchos you took with you on another day out? I'm just wondering if i should try to take my kids somewhere next Friday as it is an INSET day, but I'd be doing it on my own. They also have a school trip on the Monday we'd be doing. I'll have to have a think if I can do it.0 -
Morning everyone, thanks for the lovely messages yesterday
Legend - Hpe your son feels better soon poor mite.
Michelle - Kids and animals, sometimes I wonder what the difference is sometimes. Sounds like you had a day of it! DD decided to put pieces of grapes up her nose yesterday, she got very upset and we couldn't figure out why - until she sneezed and out came a piece of grape, she must have stuck them up there and sniffed to get them stuck. Took half an hour of comforting and sneezing to get them all out. Not looking forward to the swallowing parts of your toys stage, or the deciding to cut their own hair stage... lol
Elysia- Have a lovely day shopping, will be keeping fingers and toes crossed for sunny weather for you tomorrow. Weather has been ver odd lately, one minute brilliant sunshine, the torrential rain next five minutes then sunshine etc.
Rufus - Hope everything goes well, I'm sure there will be somwehere on the platform you can get on, I think they have to make sure there is incase of wheelchairs don't they. You could always ask when you get there. Hope your daughter has a lovely time.
claireylulu - must be lovely to have the extra time to get things done.
knit - hope the childmininding course is going well and you can find a holiday, have you tried somewhere like lastminute.com or perhaps if you fancy a cottage break they may be cheaper with late availability.
Nicky - well done getting those listings on! you have inspired me to get listing later, I a someties surprised how well some things do sellComping wishlist for 2017
1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuffThe more you put into life, the more you get out0 -
Back now. Michelle - No I've no ponchos.
I don't even own a pair of shoes for everyday wear. I have posh Prada ones for special occasions (bought for me for my 40th by my sister, £150 a pair) I live in Birkenstocks, so this should be fun.
Claire - Legoland was a bargain. It should cost just under £100 for OH, me and DD2 - It cost £24 of Mr T vouchers, which I always class as free anyway, as I'd still buy the food anyway. You should look out and see if there's any more deals going.
Michelle - google free days out, and see if there's anything local to you. I might live in Birmingham, but there are loads of places like country parks that are cheap or free to visit. How about a picnic, or something (weather permitting of course), somewhere different. When my Dd was younger - a bus ride was fun, as we used to either walk everywhere or go by car. I'll have to have a look, but there is a big list of ideas for school holidays - I'll see if I can find it. It may be too young for many little ones - but with your help it should be ok. I'll post it if I can find it.
Rufus - I just do my normal searches like I would google - but I do admit, I stretch it a bit - I just googled Legoland ( to get directions) - of course, being American, it came up with Legoland Florida, so then I had to put in Windsor, two searches for the price of one. I did say I try to get two or three lots of points from searching a day, but yesterday I only got one - today I might get four - it's all swings and roundabouts. As long as you're using the site, the points will mount up, and it's very little effort, isn't it?I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Thinking about it - most of these things are too old for under fives, but most, my DD at 8 wouldn't like to do either. I hope it gives you a couple of ideas though.I :heartpuls M.S.E.

Thanks. They have been a bit highly strung today too. I don't know if it because I have been letting them play games on the computer, and DS1 gets quite short tempered when it goes wrong. I might just have to not turn on the computer in the hols until they are in bed.
Just came in to say there are some new surveys on viva, but i screened out of them all. Some of you might be lucky though.0 -
