    Xmas Saver!
I am sure I have this mad attraction thats things can only happen to me!!

Got Miss Hoodies eyes tested, shes had a growth and apparently thats caused a change in her perscripton (even thou it was 6 months ago for her eye test), - just incase anyone else has children with glasses, any grorth spurts could mean new glasses. I was a bit worried as Miss Hoodie has my taste in glasses the designer ones, but as shes under 19, if she has designer at specky savers..... just pay £30. (ok), shes choose her glasses, as we were early they told her to choose some glasses, she tool 12 pairs in with her... the one assistant was looking at the rack gobsmacked, he just couldn't work out where they'd gone.... but they narrowed it down to 2 pairs, then the optician was looking for more styles, settled on red frame, different trim on the side, they said hers be 2 to 3 days.
I can not fault the service we recieved at Specsavers.

This time round (I was due Feb for eye test), it was sods law when the optician I wanted free I wasn't, never got round to it.... but last week in town saw an opticians that has an offer for free prescriiption sunglasses, and pair £69 + range, so thought were go there they had a slot when we were free..... went to pick up the glasses, busy admiring the frames, really pretty...... they'd only gone and fitted someones elses lenses into, I thought I was on a drug trip, the floor was coming up and floating to me, the ceiling was coming down, the walls were mergeing and couldn't even see how many finger Miss Hoodie was holding - the "dispensers excuse", your eyes have changed, your have to get use to new glasses...... to which I told her been wearing glasses all the time since 16, now 40 and know that my prescription change (only 1 change) this was not right. The assistant disappeared, I tried on sunglasses - they were perfect. They wouldn't do anything...... so me being started quoting the Sale of Goods Act, - unmerchansible quality, also unfit for the purpose, and that the keep the glasses as I will not be paying the remainder and I wanted my depoist back, They wouldn't give it me as their was no one who could authorise it store, but they still were insisting the glasses were right. They said an optician needed to check them, said no problem, we're wait, oh you can't see the locum, he's only a locum!! Surely he's qualified.

Next step, i threaten a sit in, that I would ring the local radio station, and the local newspaper, and as I was disabled on crutches, it was difficult enough to get into town without having wasted journey. Miss Hoodie pipes up, Oh god mums at it again, shes threatening them with the papers!!

Guess what within 5 mins I had a full refund!! They said they would have to ring the NHS to cancel the voucher. The manager is going to ring me at home on Thursday to discuss it!!

The snag..... we only found out when I went to Speckey savers to get glasses, the Bootys had wrote not to dispence, and presently their holding the NHS voucher, (get a contribution towards glasses, low income), - thou I now have make sure that they have cancelled the NHS voucher, and they have to cancel the claim for the eye test, so we're trying to get, but he was very help and "pointed out where the local NHS vouchers are redemmed at, should I wish to investage myself, but that would mean I would have the situation".

I know the glasses aren't made in store, but they should have been checked, but there was no apolpogy, no we're get it rectified, please accept a discount as its our fault.

So if we see some steam tomorrow, its not the ash cloud!!

(hasten to add Miss Hoodie was rather disappointed that i didn't ring the local paper, as she still thinks it funny from the Xmas before when i'm poseing!! more sprawled like a beached whale on the car bonnet with a dodgy Sat Nav from Comet..... that worked after the paper got involved, we got our money back.

It comes to something when you have to really complain and quote the law, threaten a fuss just to get something sorted. The glasses thou I had them for 10 minutes, it took nearly 2 hours for me to get my eyes back to normal. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Mum2one you are a one woman army!!!!

You are so much braver than me I would have said "oh yes they are lovely" as I bounced off the door frame on the way out. Good for you, I wish I had your confidence.

Manged 60p on 1pll yesterday, but that was it as it was my avon delivery day and didn't have time for anything else. I have got about 30 things currently on ebay so hoping I may at least sell a couple of things. It's not been good for me the last few times I've listed. Still got more to list, tried to do it all sun as it was the free weekend but computer started playing up. Will list more tomorrow as children have club this morning, ballet this aft and I'm working tonight.

On the holls front when I finally decided yes I would add the extra days I phoned and they wanted £60 per night plus £80 to change the booking. I told them that we didn't mind changing chalets adn would rather book it as an extra rather than amend to avoid the £80. This couldn't be done apparently so I said that I would leave it. Looked online and found a holiday camp a ten min drive away with all the kids club etc (which is the important thing as hols is for the twins really) and they have the weeekend for just £124 so booked that. No prob with moving camps, we don't take much anyway so easy to do.

Right best get dressed club starts in hour and I'm still in my dressing gown!!

    Take care all

Mum2one - do you know what? The same thing hpppened with my daughter at D&A. DD couldn't see, as the presciption they had put in her glasses was too weak. Wouldn't change them. Six months later, no you can't have another eye test it's only been six months. Took her to specsavers in the end, but being without the correct glasses for months caused damage, and now she has to have stronger lenses. I wish I had demanded this that and the other at the time, but they kept fobbing me off. :(

Glad you got back safe and sound Legend. I hope you manage Ok with the guides. ;)

Michelle - thanks for saying about T last night. I had 318 polls to do  - I didn't complete them all, but I got to about 75%. :o

Well done Stepmum - for getting all those listings done. You're braver than me. I only do 10 at a time.

    Morning everyone

I only got to 40p on OP yesterday, there were more on there but it was going so slow would have taken me all night to do them. I did catch up with the T ones though.

Went up to do a bit of sewing yesterday when OH got up, ended up staying up there till 8 lol. I am making a quilt to go in my shop hopefully.

Wont get a lot done today as have to go up town this morning to look for some grout. Might have a quick look through the charity shops while up there. Then out this afternoon again.

    Morning everyone

Well done for standing up to them mum2one, why is it opticians that are so difficult to deal with when things go wrong? I used to order my contact lenses from my opticians until they started not arriving, I was so annoyed to find that one pack (3 months worth apparantly) went missing in royal mail, then they didn't send anymore as they thought a payment couldn't be taken when it had been. I immediately cancelled the direct debit and went instore to sort it out, they wouldn't help and I refused to leave without the missing lenses. The long and the short of it they wouldn't refund me the money instead offering a voucher to use instore, which I refused.

Finding it hard to get going today, supposed to be going out shopping but cannot find any enthusiasm :( Will slog on with some surveys and see how I feel.

Well done on doing all those surveys stepmum, michelle and rufusdog, it can take alot of enthusiasm to do them when there are so many, just think of all those points :)

Good luck with getting those guides done Legendmum, you can do it.

Morning Elysia, lovely to see everyone up so early and raring to go :)

I didn't manage all the tolly polls last night, so best finish that today. I went to bed instead. I was shattered.

I'm having a last push at ciao too as i am away over the weekend, so i want to maximise the 15ps i get from posting without spamming and getting no rates. We'll see.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed they continue the promotion into June. That would be great.

I need to book an eye test really. My prescription last time was only a mild one to wear when reading and online, but then DS2 broke my glasses and i hardly wear them. This was over 2 years ago so i should get it sorted really.

Well ladies I have just put another guide in and am halfway through one on Rapunzel costume but it was rubbish so need to try and be a bit nicer rather than just writing a guide slating it completely! DS is not well been up all night so no creche for him later meaning no peace to get guidess done! Bless he was so cute this morning came into our room a 5am crying "Mummy bad nose!" his nose is all blocked up so he says to me "Take it off Mummy" Poor dab could hardly breathe! His nose has bee streaming since he got up at 6!

Well we did get the Merc, well he did! 02 plate Silver, Black leather interior and 4 new tyres for £2800! Bargain I think and OH said it was a good deal?!
Didnt realise so many of you were that way we could have organised a meet and I could have got you all to write my guides! lol No way should I do a Thrifty tour of the country in OH Merc?! Haha Call in on you all?! Although I am lucky if OH lets me touch the keys at the Mo! Savvy he sold skip lorry for just over £4000 so hasnt spent all money, he did pay my £100 for going with him! He is now looking to buy something again and sell and build his money up! I have started calling him Alan Sugar!!!

Stepmum 30 listings? You are nuts! I like Elysia get bored after about 10!
Mum2One you truly are great! I love the little stories you tell!
