Whilst this is still on the first page, can I ask something that has been in my mind for ages?
Has anyone ever won from any of the comps such as this one that are aimed at a certain geographical area?
The newspaper comps tend to have a set entry form and be run by national publishers but this email is going to a specific person whose job it is to check entries/contact winners. Are they likely to discard winners that come from outside the distribution area? I often wonder the same things about the Get Surry and Get Hampshire comps.
Thanks for everything weeowens -it is really really appreciated by all and i hope I didn't sound like too much of a moaning minnie

Hi purplebutterfly. It is a perfectly valid question & I do not think you a "moaning minnie".I can't vouch for the policy on this publication but I have had pms & seen posts in "I won" where members have won on newspaper comps & have resided outside of the circulation area.Oxford Journal & The Star come to mind but there have been quite a few others.
I hope this helps.0 -
Thank you :A
I know some are okay but for some reason the Essex Enquirer ones always have me picturing somebody sitting at a desk deleting piles of comp emails whilst exclaiming "This is for local people", League Of Gentleman style :rotfl:
Good luck to all and especially weeowens, you are fab :TLiving with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -

I've wondered that too, and also if you are female and enter on the gay men sites.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

I recently won from The Sheffield Star and I live in Herts. They asked me to collect but when I explained they posted it (arrived this afternoon in fact)
