We were going to have goose, so I picked one up, then saw the price, then laughed, then put it back. There's only the two of us having lunch this year so it seemed a bit excessive. Are they they price all the way through the year? Having a nice bit of beef instead.
Happy Christmas one and all.0 -
You should get yourself one of these if you fancy some goose ...

in this neck of the woods: £9 per kilo. now, you'd think that - having gone to vast expense - my (grown) kids would be gagging for a slice. but oh no. they remember the goose from the 'babe' movie and want rib of beef instead.
I get no respect in my house; none at all;).0 -

So come January there'll be 10 million divorces. Resulting in a huge increase in the number of households in the country. And hence a house price boom. Happy days!
Merry Christmas everyone.
This morning my wife suggested that I might not be able to fit my beers in the fridge...

After having lost a close relative a few years ago on Christmas Day.
My thoughts are with you. If you are either suffering from ill health or know of someone that is this Christmas time.

Happy Christmas to everyone from me - and a peaceful one too, even for those who expect seeing their extended families to be a nightmare.
(I hasten to add that my own family are lovely, but I've been receiving anguished text messages this afternoon from a friend who's visiting family, so the issue is on my mind a bit!)Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Not only was the article in the DM, but the survey was commissioned by a company that produces a weight loss product.
