these were my favourite Christmas biscuits and i would love a recipe for them. I've tried googling but cant find exactly what I am looking for.

I've never tried Haselnusssternchen, Lebkuchen are my absolute favourites though0

This is star shaped biscuit.this is not exactly you are looking for.
If you are looking for star shaped then you can try it.
Vanilla Shortbread Star Biscuit
Ingredients- 150g Plain flour
- 100g Butter
- 50g Vanilla sugar
- FOR THE VANILLA SUGAR
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 225g Caster sugar
Method- 1. To make the vanilla sugar, whizz the vanilla pod and sugar in a blender. Pour through a sieve and blend again. Store in an airtight jar.
2. Preheat the oven to gas 4, 180°C, fan 160°C. Place the flour and butter in a bowl and rub together to form crumbs. Add the vanilla sugar and mix to form a dough. Roll out the dough. Using a star-shaped cutter, cut out stars and place on a baking tray lined with nonstick baking paper.
3. Bake for 8-10 minutes until just golden. Sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Leave to cool. Keep for up to 1 week in a tin.
