Alternatively post a statement of affairs on the debt free board and the people on there will have a look and see where you can make savings. They will also help with the order in which you should pay things.
It's quite amazing once everything is written down where savings can be made - quite frequently sky plus mobile phones and entertainment is more than a family's food bill!
You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain and this will be your first real step to being debt free - taking out a consolidation loan is not the answer - learning how to budget and live within your means is the best way forward.0 -

It's refreshing to see a new poster taking the advice in the way it is intended.
It is almost normal these days where if the advice is not what the poster was hoping for, they fly off the handle ranting.
The truly non judgemental forum is in the Debt Free Wannabe board where people go on their journey out of debt.
Things can sometimes be a bit "to the point" out here, I know I can sometimes be a bit blunt (but with the best of intentions) so I don't often post in DFW.
You have already seen the problem, if the bank were to lend and you cleared that £12K credit Card bill, you would have £12K available to rack up on the card again.
This then leaves you with a £24K loan AND a £12K credit card bill so £36K in total.... i.e after consolidating, you are in a much worse position later on.0 -

You'd be well advised to have a look in the Debt Free Wannabe section of the forums and post your statement of affairs over there so that people can try and help you cut back on your spending where possible and maximise the amount of money you are paying off your debts.
Have a read of this thread to get you started and use the SOA calculator mentioned in it to post your own DFW thread: DFW link for first time posters and SOA calculator
You've taken the most important step which is realising that you need to tackle your debt problems and then looking for ways to do so.
One option that may (or may not!) be available to you is to get a credit card with a 0% balance transfer offer that would allow you to transfer some (or all depending upon acceptance and limit of new card) of your existing balance to it. This will give you a break from some of the interest you're incurring on your existing card. Just make sure you cut up the existing card!
Also, if your existing card provider(s) try to increase your APR, then you can reject the increase. This will mean that the account is then closed to further use (probably a good thing!) but you can pay off the balance inline with the existing Ts & Cs
