What food can I cook on xmas eve in preparation for xmas day?

Hi I am cooking xmas dinner again this year but want to be more prepared, having the usual turkey and vegetable dishes but wanted to know what I can do the day before to make xmas so much easier.

Good idea, I do the same thing. Gravey is a good one to do the day before, put your trivet (carrots, celery and onion) into a a roasting tin with chicken wings and roast with some herbs, once cooked add hot water and mash up, then simmer until your mixture is nice and thick, run through a seive and the next day add in your meat juices.

It really depends on what food you are doing in the first place. I cooked mashed sweed and carrots the day before and then just microwave on the day. I also cook the xmas pud the day before and then microwave on the day. Although mine is homemade, I don't know if it works for shop bought. I also peel and chop all the veg the day before and leave it in water. That's about it for me though...

You could do what many seem to do Cook the turkey the day before, chill, slice and refrigerate. The next day cover with gravy and re-heat (don't reheat a whole turkey). Other than that just prep your veg if you need to and crumb bread for stuffing and bread sauce if you have them.

To be honest I just do it all on the day as it does not take that long to put the meat in the oven and prep the veg.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

i would make the stuffing/gravy the day before, and the pigs in blankets, trifle and peel the veg - carrots, parsnips, sprouts, potatoes. i would cook the turkey on the day, i cook it in the morning, and when i'm ready to serve, put slices in a shallow dish and cover with a bit of stock and reheat in the oven, i also do a goose, but thats best served warm when first cooked. so i cook that after the turkey comes out. And if you do a starter, maybe prepare that, i don't though!!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will do the vegetables the day before and the gravy too.
