i live in york, and yes some places around here are cheaper but the desirable villages are not cheap to buy in, factor in the cost of transport cos our buses aren't the best.'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

My parents lived in a fairly desirable village near York and sold their house last year for close to half a million - they moved to another suburb of York to downsize and still spent £350,000. I personally don't find it that cheap.
I spent the first 18 years of my life there and the nice bits aren't cheap, and there's A LOT that isn't nice.
Public transport is very expensive and a very poor service. There's too many hen parties.
Would I move back? Course I would I've got kids and the childcare/support would more than make up for it. (If we could afford to lol)OPs so far £42,139
