I always use the defrosting calculator from this page: http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/seasonsandcelebrations/winter/saferchristmaseating/:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

thats saying 12 -17 hours....... find it a bit hard to believe as the same size turkey last year said 36 hours...... amnd it took longer0

says on packet 36-56 hours at 4c, but no room in fridge
so will probably do the same as last year 26 hours at room tmep and see how it is0 -

12-17 hours is for a cool room. Do you know the average temperature of the room you'll be defrosting it in? If it's normally around 12 degrees, then average between the fridge & room temperature times, no?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Mines out now, if it doesnt defrost in time i will put it in a bucket of cold water, if it does defrost, i will put it in garage, it normally takes longer than on the packet tho.!! and as soon as i can get the giblet bag out i keep neck in fridge and chuck liver etc out, i think it makes the gravy bitter.0
