Cheap last minute presents for 30 yr old man

I may be asking for too much here but I have realised that I haven't got my partner many presents which he can open on christmas day. The plan is to get him an iphone when they are back in stock at tescos (as they work out cheapest) and apart from that I have got him COD Black Ops for xbox, a tshirt from asos and a hat. Which I know isn't too bad but I know that he has gone quite overboard with my presents this year and I'll have lots of nice things to open on Christmas day and I will feel really bad handing over 3 small parcels.

So please, does anyone have any ideas of cheapish gifts that I can get him?

I am very reluctant to get him any more clothes as he already has sooo many and I have a major problem with 'useless' presents, so novelty stuff thats going to hang around collecting dust is out of the question.

Any ideas anyone? I'm desperate!

  • How about something foody? chocolate or does he have a favourite biscuit or if he likes cheese , you could put together some nice cheese together with a bottle of his favourite tipple? Does he know about the i phone? perhaps you could make him a voucher telling him about it and wrap that or put it in the wrapper of a bar of chocolate a bit like a Golden Ticket ? Hope that helps

Does he like reading - a couple of books to keep him going over Christmas? If you're really wanting cheap, I've had some good easy reading ones from Poundland lately. And according to my brother you can't go wrong with choccy and booze.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Thanks Starfishpie, thats a really nice suggestion for the 'iphone voucher' :) He does know about it already so although he will know what I give him on xmas day isn't all he's getting I'll just feel a bit rubbish having loads myself and him having barely anything.

Great idea with the food, he loves cheesecakes so I might make him a cheesecake :)

Any more suggestions very welcome :D

Is it that he's spent a lot more on you or could it be that he's got you lots of little gifts?! I had a similar dilemna, my husband and I agreed we would spend no more than a certain amount because we're trying to buy a house this year and need to sace. However he put the presents under the tree and there are about 15 large ones for me and he announced that he went a little overboard! So I've added a bottle of his favourite spirit to his presents and some football tickets (which I ordered and arrived in a couple of days). I also got a couple of DVD's for him too. If you pop to Sainsburys you should be able to pick up a few good presents there.

This year with my two teenage boys and hubby, i am making a christmas sack each, and putting a different guitar mag in each, and then i have bought some cheap music and old film dvd's and cd from poundland.... along with some kiddies sweeties etc, each thing with be individually wrapped.....lol.... or it will feel they have un-wrapped loads of pressies....;)

My kids have also bought an album of one of hubby's favourite bands, and have put the sleeve and record in a nice frame, which is a nice cheapish and different type of presant,
