BTL, vile lowlife business, nobody wants to be living under their roofs

However, you do have to realise whilst things are much better for some (NON-overextended homeowners and BTL greed-scoundrels, both of which massively bailed out by government policy), OTHERS are condemned to private tenancies, expensive rents and virtually no rights... often these same people are also priced out of buying anywhere despite what blinkered bulls claim.
At least with social/council housing, rents were kept below market value. The whole idea was meant to support the poor.
The whole private BTL is there SOLELY to benefit the voters of middle England, aka those who are already reasonably well off.
I think the OP is justified in feeling a little peeved and is not alone in their thoughts.
I also think the OP is correct in identifying a developing militant streak in the UK. I like to think it can lead to positive change.
After we put all the BTL landlords' and bankers and politicians heads on sticks (joke (sort of)).
i agree with some of it and disagree with other bits - there's a balance to be had between the two.
now isn't the time to fix these issues - some banks are still too fragile and dependent on the lending market. it's going to take a few years to fix (which no government will try to fix IMO btw)0 -

Why do you think no government will ever try to fix it? Not having a go, just interested in your opinions. Do you ever think it will come to a point where it HAS to be fixed?Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

i got laughed at and still do because i think 2008 wasn't a HPC because people couldn't afford but it happened due to the lack of credit. i see it as a correction nothing else. a decent sized one tbf.
the proper HPC where people can't afford will come along but not for a while yet - the crashaholics on here are a bit too eager. these things take years and years to happen.0 -

Well if the landlords are executed the tenants can stay for free and live a utopian dream where their property ownership rights are protected but everything else is up for grabs.
Accountant_Kerry that's the second time you've tried to make a rational point. This really isn't the place for it.0 -

Some industrious crashaholic could no doubt fashion some kind of affordable housing from their ashes I think.Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

I am hearing the word "rant" a lot, more from those that are in the BTL game themselves.
I seriously do not care what your reasons are, and i don't care how many times you tell me that i am ranting, i will shout as loud as i can what an obscene and vulgar and selfish business BTL is.
There was a time when little kids were sent up chimneys are sent between dangerous working parts of a machines to clean, there was a time not so long ago where it was legal to enslave another human.
Homosexual people only decades ago were beaten up and locked up with British law fully protecting those that took great joy in dishing out their punishments.
But people stood up and said this is wrong, BTL is wrong. I just happen to be in a enviroment where i am seeing a lot of all ready wealthy people buying up property on the nod of so called financial experts who are telling these people to buy and buy and keep buying property, they don't give a toss about the human element, they are not bothered about the comfort of their tenants, they are simply an even greater money supply.
The one thing i will say about this MSE site, i am able to articulate my angry views, and yes i am angry as are millions of others. HPC is just a revenue making machine that just wants traffic from this disheartened left out renters. PMT motley fool now has a stongly censored site where only BTL rampers are allowed in, w*****s like Kingofnowhere and Mike4, friendless souless little nerds that do not give a toss about the damage they are doing to this country. They are the two biggest property sites now(i think singing pig has gone), both are too restictive and controlled.
There is a huge angry mob out there who want nothing but a chance as hard working young people to hold a stake in their own country, these are the people who should be in the family homes nurturing the next generation. Instead we are getting 55 year old Essex widows with more houses than some people have pairs of socks, treating them like investments and nothing else.
Things will get nasty, call me a ranter as much as you want, i don't give a toss, but one of these days it will go head to head and then see if you call me it then.0 -

Rational is now "burning at the stake"?
Hmm, yer.
Rational would be suggesting what would happen if new tax legislation came in tommorow for all new BTL purchases going forward.0 -
