Has anyone else dealt with them? I've been putting together my own DMP and Halifax are my biggest creditor with a loan, cc and od.
One call today to discuss my SOA and they accepted my offers of reduced payments for all three accounts. More importantly interest and charges all stopped :j with everything to be reviewed in twelve months.
The real surprise was with the loan repayment. I was offering £75 a month which was around 50% of what I should be paying. The lad ran the numbers and said at that level the interest and charges wouldn't stop but if I paid £48 they would. Have I done anything wrong by agreeing to pay the lower amount?
I realise that in time everything will default and trash my credit rating but that is the least of my worries, I just want to pay it back.

I'm in similar position to you mate. With Halifax, owe 3k with credit card and overdraft combined.
I'm looking to move away soon, was wondering if they'd freeze interest or lower payments, seems like you did it so easy, what was your method/reason if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks!0 -
My change in circumstances has been illness which is preventing me from working. I've been upfront with them about my health problems. No idea if they view health problems with more sympathy.
I've done all the communication over the phone. I appreciate this isn't for everyone but I prefer it.0 -
