Help, I need a loan, I have no bad credit.... But have not been in UK for over 5yrs

I hope somebody can help....

I went to get a loan with Alliance & Leicester on saturday, but they say they cannot give me one, even thought they wanted to... as i have not been in the UK For over 5 years.... I need a loan to cover my Uni Costs... I have a full time job for the last 5 years ( 2 years in the UK, but the same company ) and i have never had credit.....

Is there any way i can get a loan, without paying a very very high APR ?

First thing first, which bank do you bank with? Go speak to them and they should probably be able to offer you something. Also try Lloyds and HSBC, they are usually quite agressive in lending to people who don't have been in UK for long time, you probaby won't get the best APR, but it's better than borrowing from credit card.

I got my loan with Lloyds when I was only in the country for over 2 years, but i was banking with them for 2 years, so that could be why. Speak to your local branch see what they can offer, good luck.
