Hi there,

Just a few pieces of advice needed really. I have been getting a few phone calls recently from two different debt collection agencies, one being Fredrickson International. I have not been in when they call, but a message has been left once or twice asking for a call back, however stating no name of who they wish to speak to (myself and my partner live together).

Neither of us have phoned them back as neither of us owe any money or have ever had any debts, our bank accounts are in the black, never in the red and we have both held them since we were very young, we do not hold any store cards or credit cards either and therefore, as far as we are concerned there is absolutely nothing that any debt collector can claim against us. One company has stopped harassing us with phone calls since we've ignored them all, but now Fredrickson Internatinal have started. The only thing we both owe is a student loan, but neither of us earn enough for them to be claiming this back yet either.

Edit: We have a joint mortgage on one property of which payments are up to date, plus two mortgages through my partner's business which are also well up to date.

Should I ring these people back and find out what they are claiming and ask for proof or ignore and assume they will stop like the others? I don't want to seem like I or my partner are 'admitting' to any debt, we are 100% clear and do not appreciate being accused of anything like this.

Thanks in advance for help/advice/solutions.
Claire

Right now i would just ignore the calls, but check your credit file (free at experian if you cancel within 30 days) - just to make sure everything is in order. It may be you have the same name as someone they are looking for. If you phone them though, your number will probably fo on their system and you may end up with alot more calls.

IF you do ever phone them, make sure your number is withheld.
