pic'n'mix in wilkinsons is far cheaper.
We used to take my mini scales with us when the kids got pic'n'mix in woollies as it is just too easy to spend a fortune. Then Wilkinsons opened .Last time we bought them I think they were 49p a 100gms which was about 5p cheaper than woollies. They also have gravity fed sweet bins so kids cant touch the sweets until they are coming out of the bottom.0 -
we bought the pick and mix last week and we sqaushed as many sweets in as we could.managed to get the lid on and it was £1.99. hubby weighed it at local tesco and said to buy it in the bag would have cost about £3.80 . so it was a bargainGoooooo with the Flowwwwww0

Hi sorry was at work today!! unbelieable how many peeps was getting the pick and mix!! It was selling faster than we could fill it up! lol
when the sweets fall into the plastic lip that goes right along the edge of the sweets we have to put them back into the containers at the end of the day!! Personally i find that discusting!! It couldve been out in the open all day for all we know!! The other day a group of boys was going round taking a bite out of a sweet and putting it back!! uh yuk!!
when i weighed a pot today it weighed 4.92!! he got it for 1.99!!
but i suppose it depends what sweets you put in!! if you put in boiled sweets that dont wiegh much then im not sure!
I will have to keep a check and start wieghing them!
there is a knack for filling them!! fill with jelly sweets first them teem smarties or som other small sweet inbetween the holes, keep shaking the tub to get the smarities or other small things to the bottom and start again. Its really amazing just how much you can get into the tubs!! most of us dont bother if the lids dont fit on quite right. some of the older mardy gits can be a pain in the !!!!!! but half the time they are hiding upstairs in the stockroom!! lol0 -
Heres an interest thought, I'm looking at Monday's copy of The Sun which has an advert for Woolworths which stats the following "Buy 1 get 1 half price on all £1.99 and £2.99 pic 'n' mix cups" then shows a picture of the two cup sizes with the sweets coming over the brim of the cups (but not falling out)
This implies to me that you can go over the brim of the cup so long as nothing falls out (as shown on the photo in the ad) - so where do the lids come in?
Also I buy 200g bags of Dolly Mixures from Tesco for 35p - so for £1.99 I get 1.1kg in wieght, which is better value?0 -
If you're a cheeky git then you could do what we do.
If your cup's spilling over with sweets then just munch some of them in the queue while you're waiting!! Tru value for money!!0 -
I was going to get some pick and mix today but the containers were practically empty even though it didn't look like there was anyone buying them so i was kinda disgusted and changed my mind, saved me some money right there! lol0

I went to Woolies this lunchtime and got the small cup deal. Not weighed it yet cos I'm at work but I managed to cram a fair bit in and they don't seem to have any small cup lids so you could pile it up and over and get away it0
