I need some ideas of little gifts to fill the kids stockings with. Am going to leave their stockings on the end of their beds.
Been round the shops and ther are some lovely looking little packets of sweets etc. Have got a couple of each and some gold coins. Dont want to fill the whole stocking like that though. They will just fill up on it all and not want to eat xmas dinner. Plus they would be high as kites.
Any ideas very welcome

I would put in any age appropriate bits eg,

I think any fun little gifts are good (they buy us an extra 10 mins in bed anyway)0 -
How old are they??
I used to get a spray (like the charlie or so... range), cheap makeup bits, gel pens, notepads with cute pictures on lol
my brother (12) gets things like a lynx can, hair gel, cool socks, funky pens, keyrings etc
when we were younger it was stuff like:
knickers, colouring pens and books, crayons, hair bands, stickers
pants, colouring stuff, stickers, toy guns
oh, and there has to be an orange!!!!!!!I'm not a bloke! :rotfl:My real name is Sinead, Sid is my nickname :rotfl:0 -
Don't forget the traditional apple/orange

Along with the choccy coins and a tube of sweets I just put in some of the smaller wrapped parcels that fitCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. My (adult) children are having stockings again for the first time in years and it has cost me a fortune! I bought things like undies, chocolate, smellies, a magazine, hair stuff, make up....When mine were littlies I used to get their stocking fillers from Woolies in the main. RIP Woolworths.0

I read on here that some people are planning to put in cereal bars and a carton of fruit juice so that their kids have something decent to eat while ripping into their presents, instead of munching on their chocolates!
You could put in things like a purse, fluffy bedsocks, bath stuff, little soft toy, jewellery, hair accessories, colouring book, stickers, small lego set, toy cars, top trumps or regular pack of cards, bouncy balls etc depending on age and gender

How utterly depressing! One of the best things about Christmas is that it is the only day of the year when you get to start the day with a selection box/gold coins/Jaffa cakes!0 -
My girls stockings this christmas consist of (ages 5 and 4):
A hello kitty egg, bit like a kinder egg, has a wee hello kitty toy inside. A balloon helicopter kit each. A Snowman soup kit, ie hot chocolate lol. A skipping rope each. A set of four lipglosses in different flavours. Some fairy tattoo transfers (dont buy these if you havent tested for allergies though, by applying one and keeping a close eye for redness, asking if itchy, sore etc), a skin each for their nintendo ds. A bracelet each. A hello kitty watch each. A little tic tac toe game each. A set of rings each. A pair of socks each. A set of disney princess engraved cutlery each.
I know that seems a lot but it varied from 50p to £3.00 an item
My son, aged 2 has: A disney cars mini torch. A library mini book set of timmy time. A disney cars engraved cutlery set. An igglepiggle mini doodle pad. A hahoo soft toy (in the night garden character). A cars flannel. A cars pair of socks.
My baby boy has: Two crayola first beginnings colour changing toys. A new fleece comforter. A teether. A mini book. A rattle toy.
Pound land has some great wee stocking fillers, they have some mr men hand warmers that are great!:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0 -

I know, but I suspect it's more for the sake of the parents sanity than trying to be killjoys! :snow_laug
I've started my day by digging into a box of celebrations for the past few years and fully intend to do so again this year

My kids are 11, 7 and 5, and they asked if they could have a smoothie carton and a small box of frosties type cereal in their room to eat on Christmas morning (we usually have boring cereal the rest of the year!)!! I used to love Christmas morning, opening the stocking and having a satsuma and chocolate coins for breakfast!!
Their stockings always have: a satsuma, chocolate coins, socks, tinti bath tablets (they change the colour of the bath), notebooks and a special pen or pencils, chocolate lolly or special Christmas chocolate and a small book.
This year they also have: a purse, small tubs of scented playclay, lego minifigures for the 11yr old, wooden rabbit and mushrooms for 7yr old and small knight dolls and wooden polar bear for 5yr old. I might also add Club Penguin membership cards as it will save me money in the long term!
Good ideas for stocking fillers are little notebooks and pencils, erasers, that sort of thing, maybe mini stamps, stickers, packet of seeds, small bracelet or beads to make one, hairbands, clasps etc, small colouring or puzzle book & packet of crayons or pencils, little toy such as wooden yoyo or spinning top, are they into things like Gogos?0 -
My son is 7 and I always put loads into his stocking as I see so many interesting bits & pieces throughout the year... this years include: touchable bubbles, diving submarine for the bath, invisible writing pens all very cheap from:
http://www.tickseed.co.uk/
A head-torch; book reading light; Lego playing cards & key ring; 40 piece drinking straw set; slime, snow & rubber ball kits... which I may live to regret!
There's a lot more as well, 'cos I find that he really loves stuff like that and plays with it a lot - last year I got him a chicken-shaped kitchen timer from B&M and he thinks it's great!0
