Hi, basically if anyone here interested steam xmas sales starts today!!!
If you dont know what steam is, it is a digital download service, sort of like itunes but for pc games instead of music, so you make account and buy the games online then you download the game and play through your steam account.
http://store.steampowered.com/
When they do sales they really go crazy on the prices
e.g the pc version of Lego Batman is up at £2.49
They also many many older games/indie games than will run on any computer, right now they have a whole bunch of indie packs going dirt cheap at £3.99
Kids would love little indie packs like this
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/6921/
btw there are many digital dl services out there but at present steam is really dominating as it has by far the biggest user base and the sales are just extreme on the pricing side.

Merry Christmas :snow_grin0 -
hehe my pleasure

I know there wont be that many on these forums that will be interested in these kind of digital dl services, but I think for soem there will be certain barrier e.g concern that pc wont run it, or just a general caution over this kind of pay for download system, but really it is the future and i mean seriously the games are just so damn cheap. I mean they must be making the absolute tiniest of profit.
here is a good one
Every F.E.A.R game ever released (including fear2) for £5.72

lmao i mean that is filthy cheap
If I see any particuarly good deals like the lego batman game i will try to update the thread

Thanks, DLing the Batman one to play with the OH and have taken the plunge on the Fear one. Only trouble with Steam is that there's never enough time to play all the bargains! :OD0

I can recommend the Batman one although I have it for PS2 - it's amazing fun

deus ex are old (highly regarded) sort of cyber punk role playing first person shooter game, you upgrade body parts stuff like that. like you say 1.49 you cant go wrong.
also just t omention there is other site called GOG (good old games) where you get much older games they also have christmas sale at the moment 50% off a lot of stuff. lots of classics, not my cup of tea tbh but worth a look cos many games approx 2-3 quid

Thanks for posting this OP! Do you know if the offers change daily? Looks like they might. My boyfriend is dying to get home and see what games he can snag too.
Im not sure if Deus Ex is my kind of game but as you say, you certainly cant grumble at £1.49.Im more of a RPG or MMO kind of person.
Was hoping Dragon Age: Awakenings might of been cheaper, oh well still time left!0 -

Looking at the site i 'think' that the general sale will continue every day until January 2nd, the actual 'todays deals' are on a timer and will change daily, i expect there will be some serious deals in the next two weeks.
Btw if you like dragon age amazon sell the ultimate edition (dragon age plus awakenings + ALL the download content for £17.69, steam are selling it for £18.74, i dont know if they will go any lower than that though.
If you like rpg that is isometric like diablo they have titan quest gold (main game plus the expansion) on today sales for £2.50.
It is like diablo based in greek myth universe. I never played it though.0
