how to wash a really dirty ironing board cover?

really getting into the swing of cooking and trying to get into cleaning too!

Just notices how filthy my ironing board cover is, as well as my iron sole plate which has black marks on it.

I have washed the cover a few times, but it is quite stained looking, brown water and dirt stains..?

Any tips for getting it really clean please??
