Cancelled Refunds? Yes or No?

Hi There Guys!

A bit of a dilemma here for you.

I've recently had a few refunds from various retailers and it's been a while since they were initiated. Can retailers such as Debenhams, New Look and Topman stop refunds going back onto a debit card?

Can I add that I was in store when the refunds were initiated back onto my card, the slip was signed and it was put in the till ready to be downloaded at night. Can they stop that transaction?

I was just wondering also if it is a possibility for retailers to cancel a refund once they have put it through on their systems so it never reaches the bank. I've tried asking so many people this and everyone thinks I'm taking about them doing it...I am just wondering if it can be done.

Anyone able to help?

how long is a while ? I have had refunds appear back on my account within a few days, longer with weekends.

I don't quite understand your situation if we knew in which context you would use it maybe it would be easier to help?

If you went instore for a refund on an item, then they refunded you, you couldn't then ask them to cancel the refund and then take the item, you would need to repurchase the item as a new transaction.

If you mean can they cancel a refund after it has been issued because they then decide at a later date they feel that you should not have received it, no. Once the refund has been issued they wouldn't be able to reverse it.
