Triton Credit Services - Your Views??

Hi, new here, but getting fed up of being harrassed
By triton credit services Ltd, I have had no missed payments since I was directed to them for late payment (1 month ) of a Natwest Credit Card.

However they insist on making a minimum 3 month payment agreement and then stopping it to review my circumstances.

Every 3 months this means a new direct debit, usually on a different day to previously if at all. When it is missed, either through lack of funds as it was on a different day or just through their own incompetence they are back on the phone, typicall an auto dial service which in many instances they fail to pick up!!

I really have had enough, I don’t have a problem paying them, I just want some consistency.

Staff are typically rude and unhelpful, last week I wanted help with a financial statement (something they demanded from me within 14 days) and was told…..we are a debt collection agency, we are not here to help !!!!

Has anyone else had any problems with these guys ??

  • Just write to them, tell them not to phone and conduct all business with them in writing, keeping copies. If they ring, tell them to write

  • Ive just been passed to triton the first phone call had me in floods of tears the man was just plain rude and accusatory. 2nd phone call resulted in a 28day hold on the account so I can send in a financial statement (and more tears)
  • We had dealings with Trition very rude, nasty people.. My hubby panic, we was at the start of a Dmp with Payplan seven years ago... We got into truble with RBS visa card.. It because we got fed up of them being so nasty, we found help on this wonderful site.. We got payments sent to them pro rata.. We decided to ask for cca, consumer credit agreement, we had visa for years.. RBs could not find it, so they could not enforce the debt, We had £1300 wiped off...

If they phone, tell them you been advice not to speak but you wish to communicate by writing only..

If you have to write them a letter type your name do not sign it...

If l had problems paying by direct debt, write to them asking for a payment book, or send them a postal order each month, say you cannot afford this due to the credit crunch, times are hard .

You could get a couple of postal orders in advance.. l know you pay extra. Why make it easy for them to be so rude to you and nasty.. Everyone gets into debt, which l know personally feel ashamed, but we faced our responsiblities, It did not matter to Triton that we went to get help with our debts, etc..

We asked for help before it got worse... We had to change our bank account, to basic account as we were with RBs ...
If you are with Natwest or RBs.. they can get money from your account, as both interlink..

I am sure someone would let you know here if this is right.. .

If your debts are big, I would do a DMP, it stops the hassle puts you wise to becoming debt free.. We near the end one more payment, but waiting for balance if we still owe of interests and charges etc...

    best of luck..

If you have money in an account with a bank that you owe money to, then yes, they can take it out off your account, which I believe is called the right of 'Offset'

Just to make you aware, Triton is part of the Natwest / RBS group.

They pretend to be a debt collecting company - but regardless they still have to abide by the Debt Collection Guidance as set down by the OFT
