Creating a new credit file

I just saw the link on this website to a ebook claiming to allow the creation of a new credit file :

http://www.creditsolveuk.com/creditfile.htm

Does this work? Is it illegal?

I have often wondered being as the CRA's base profile data on home addresses (hence questions asking for all addresses lived in the past three years) - what would happen if you simply 'lost' your old credit history and started afresh at a new address registering on the electoral roll etc...

I am not advocating not paying the debts. I just wonder what would happen? Is this possible?

Looks like a scam - you have to go right to the bottom of the page to see that you are being asked to PAY £34.95 to download an e-book.
Other than by lying, which would be construed as fraud, you can not create a new credit file.

    Hi
I read something about this but its a bit cloudy in my mind

i think it was about being able to completely clear your file but it did nt help as it left you without any history for creditors to check(I emphasise im not sure on that and for me id much rather put it down as a scam)
  • I work with credit files on a daily basis, and if I found someone with a clean file with no info on it I would be very suspicious.
I would then query your prev address'ss, be looking at your age, wondering why you had no credit data, and what you were trying to hide.
Without this info I would I would refuse you credit, and this new search would then be logged on your credit file for the next company to see.
    A bit risky I think.
  • So it could really work then? Couldn't someone just start off with a Cap One Card etc...and build up credit?

Better to be good with money for a short while, then try to rebuild. Depending on how bad your financial situation and credit report was it doesn't take that long to rebuild.
