Hi im new to this site and wondered if any one had any info on my situation, i have currently a mortgage with Santander for just under 20k and have a flat which i own with my partner, ( he has paid off his mort) we have now split up and i am looking to re-mortgage to buy him out, he wants 100k ( 200k was wot it was valued at 2months ago). I have approached a mort adv and is currently trying his best to find me a mort of 120k but due to my own stupidty and shortsightedness have a few credit card debts that i am paying back, ( and my credit rating is not as good as it shouldbe!!!!) My mort adv approached natwest who were at first were happy to lend me the 120k but seeing my credit rating have reduced there offer to 80k (but we are stil awaiting the actual fig they wil llend me, they seem to be taking there time. What i would like to ask is are there any lenders that are willing to take on ppl like me and are willing to offer a mortgage, i have steady full time job but my salary is not very high, just under 24k, my mort adv is not having any luck with any lenders that offer this service, he has tried a lender called Platinum but could not offer any help.
Does anybody have any advice they can offer, my ex who is still living at the flat is getting rather annoyed at how long it is taking and that i do not seem to be getting any word from Natwest in howlong they will take.
Is it worth asking my current lender Santander, the reason i had not gone to them is that if they see my credit file, my fear is that they will take my current mortgage away, i have not missed amy payments since the start of the mort way back in 1991, and do over pay every month. Does anybody know if Santander are approachable and if they are fair in there decisions.
I would appricate any help and advice i can get, as the stress of the last 3 months is finally getting to me and not sure how much fighting spirit i have left, also my ex and i are eager to get on with our lives.:embarasse:cry:
Thanks.

Speak to Santander. They may choose not to lend but will not take away your current mortgage for you having poor credit.
Your broker should be able to advise you of what to do. Can you not get your ex to take a lower amount? May open more doors for you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It depends on your personal circumstances so would not like to say without knowing.
Borrowing extra funds to buy out an ex partner is usually a transaction lenders would entertainI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
