Following on from yesterday got product code for windows can't install it

Hi everyone, please can someone suggest what I do next. Yesterday from nowhere I received a message saying my version of windows isn't genuine, cannot now access MSN or Hotmail or ebay my ebay or paypal account, no idea if it's all connected.
Anyway ran a system check as suggested found a sasser b worm, now gone.
Been trying to enter my product code found on my sticker on computer as it had Windows XP Home Edition pre installed, but keep getting a message saying that ActiveX is not installed so computer cannot communicate with Microsoft to validate my product code.
I do not have an 'install activex' message on my top line even though microsoft say I should and when I try to resolve it I get a message saying 'error cannot proceed with download'.
Any clues? Thank you.
