Sc level clearance

There's a job I wish to apply for, but it needs 'SC LEVEL CLEARANCE', all I can get from the internet on this, is that it takes upto 6 weeks for this clearance and I only have about 5 weeks til the job starts.
I have no previous convictions, but I'm currently up for refusing to give a sample of breath where I'm alleged to have been drink driving.
Can anyone help me on this matter?

As long as you enclosed any convictions etc in a separate envelope, there should be no problem. If you failed to disclose anything, then you can be re-interviewed.
Note though, your new employer does not need to know this, hence the envelope, and any conviction that is considered 'spent' is not to be treated as such on the disclosure.0 -

These checks are carried out by the Defence Vetting Agency - have a look at: http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/AboutDefence/WhatWeDo/SecurityandIntelligence/DVA/
and particularly the pages listed on the right hand side, including FAQs.
You should be absolutely honest in your answers - lying or "missing out" details are not a good idea...0 -
The application is submitted by your new company. you can start work but until your clearance comes through you may be restricted in what you do. Bearing in mind that the first couple of weeks tends to be meeting people, setting up IT, HR stuff etc it shouldnt be a problem.
Do you have a contact at the company you can ask for the forms?
I take it you definately have the job?
Never ever lie about convictions for SC clearance and it may be best to be upfront with your new company ref your impending ban (and you will be banned for at least 12 months for refusing a sample). This may effect how the company can employ you i.e. travel etcPoliticians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.0 -
