What are my chances of getting a mortgage?

Options
I'm newly self employed, and so is my partner...therefore we have no accounts to show for ourselves.

I have around 90K to put down as a deposit though, and we're looking at property around the £200-250K mark.

Do we have any chance at all (I was hoping a big deposit might help), or are we doomed to deal with landlords til we have enough records to prove we can meet a mortgage. (Frustratingly, our current rent is about twice what we've figured we'd have to pay if we had a mortgage, so we know we can afford it!)

Any advice on mortgages for self employed, etc?

Thanks

You'll need 3 years accounts as evidence of earnings, though a few lenders do accept 2 years accounts.

So keep saving in the meanwhile.
  • You could try contacting contractormortgagesuk. I dont work for them but I did use them to try to get a mortgage as I have just over 1 years accounts. I not using them as Im going to switch product with my current lender coventry
