normally i spend about 500-1000 on each kid too, so i dont know why your all judging, i won a fair share on the lottery a week ago and well ive spent £5000 on each kid atm, they have been bought a horse each too, nothing more and the rest is going in their banks, just wanted to treat them they deserve it in this current economic climate.

I just remembered something I forgot in my earlier post.
I think one of the most expensive presents I bought which cost a king's ransom turned out to be a 'white elephant' and hardly used although it seemed like a good idea because it would last for years (large 2 storey turreted castle) - now used for extra storage.
So to answer the question of how much should parents pay, what they feel comfortable about and also to ask yourself are you buying the gifts for you (to impress others) or for the child.
Something else to keep in mind, if you buy a special present for your child and spend a lot of money on credit - how will you feel if they prefer a present bought by someone else?
I had to laugh at an earlier comment that Martin would be happy to give a bag of balloons as a present. Stocking filler yes, but a main present?0 -
Yes, she is only 8 but has had a very busy year this year, she is in an S4C series, has done Les Mis with Gareth Gates, Nickelodeon, Morrisons Christmas Advert, Burger King ad, some more live shows. She did a film last year that Ben Stiller produced which we are waiting to be released, Casualty, Dr Who, some photo shoots, plus she does dance competitions and has Championships coming up next year. Just heard today she has a hand modelling job in the new year, plus the new McDonald's commercial. I think her "look" is "in" at the moment!
Blimey, that's impressive.
Especially the Stiller film. And Dr Who! (but then I am a geek).:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

She has done quite a lot of Dr Who and Casualty (a lot of it is filmed locally to us), and she did a lot of Torchwood and Merlin. She did a fair bit of filming for a new children's programme called Sparticles earlier in the year too - that one is really strange! The only two things she has done which have been a bit iffy were Skins (luckily they don't let the 8 year olds see any of the dodgy stuff), and a photoshoot she did in the summer with a scary clown who was offering her fags!!January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -

My last thread has prompted me to ask this question, as I have no idea what the average is or if I'm overdoing it.
I have 3 children, aged 20 months, 12yrs & 16 yrs. The 12 & 16 year olds get £250 for xmas, but my toddler gets a bit less £200 as he doesn't really need that much.
Is this reasonable? What do others spend?
Thanks
i think you spend as much as you can afford without going too ott though that is easier said than done:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0
