Amazon non-delivery

I ordered a load of books from Amazon for Xmas on 3rd Dec. It said they were dispatched on 5th, delivery estimate 8th, and still no books.

I emailed them and they told me to wait til 16th, which I did, and still nothing. I emailed them again and no answer.

I'm losing patience as the books were supposed to be Xmas presents.

What is strange is that weather conditions returned to normal after that cold snap at the start of Dec and so, in theory, there was plenty of time to get the stuff delivered.

same boat as you 4 books ordered 8 th dec still not arrived had an e mail from them on friday saying they will definatly be here for christmas but i wont hold my breath

There is a hell of a backlog, which is slowing things down a lot.

Mind you we did get 4 separate deliveries yesterday and now have nothing outstanding

if its anything like my order you still have a bit of a wait. Ordered 26th November, dispatched 27th November, received 18th December. Poor poor service received this year, but not from amazon as such but the delivery companies. Still waiting on parcels from HMV, whether it will arrive for xmas or not remains to be seen.

Top tip
Buy the books in a high street shop, I know they will cost more then online. Wrap them up presents done and then when ones in the post come take them back to the shop for a refund.
Presents sorted and no stressing about waiting for the post to arrive.

Aside from being dishonest, you could also find yourself stuck with vouchers that you have to spend in the high street store anyway, they don't have to offer cash refunds if there is nothing wrong with the items.

Me too. I ordered some DVDs for my brother's birthday which was yesterday. Ordered them on 9th Dec and they were supposedly shipped the same day, but still nothing has turned up. I had to apologise to him yesterday and give him a makeshift bottle of wine, but I hope they turn up by Christmas or I'll be really cross!

our order with amazon came today, was ordered on the 8th, dispatched, in good old pantomine fashion on the 10th, oh no it wasnt........it was classed as dispatched but actually in their warehouse for 8 days. then went on a road trip, from scotland to chester, to yorkshire to tyneside and then here. thought originally it was a royal mail mess but in fact they had it for 3 days if you include saturday. see if your item has a tracking code on amazon, it can make interesting reading, sad I know:j

Yes mine has been on hols in the Cardiff depot of hdnl since the 16th!!!

I've had Amazon problems too this year - made 3 separate orders at the beginning-mid Dec, have received the 2 that were dispached last but strangely the first one is nowhere to be seen.

I'm hoping it will turn up, don't know if its RM or Amazon who are at fault.

I have no hope then. Mine was dispatched 13th through an amazon external seller. Delivery estimate of 15th to 30th December. I am really disappointed that it hasn't arrived.
