Thanks for the suggestions all :)

annakat99, I love Dr Martens! Just not as keen on the price :p Those are gorgeous though, will have to look out for some in the sales!

La-Cara, cheers, had no idea such things existed!

Alton Towers, those do look comfy and I love the chunky sole. Think they might be a bit too warm though, so definitely a winter boot.

lostinrates and roadiegirl, I think you're probably right, last year I got away with some canvas pumps but I doubt I'll be that lucky again!

I saw these earlier, and surprisingly I quite like them- nice colours, stylish but comfortable heel, and they look like they might actually fit my legs: http://www.wedgewelly.co.uk/

I think I'd like a pair of Dr Martens AND some Wedge Wellies, but that's not very money saving!

Agree totally with Dr Martens, my feet were the only thing that were warm and dry when I had to trudge to work through the snow the other week.
    these are mine http://store.drmartens.co.uk/p-294-union-jack-8-eye-boot.aspx ;)

If you are thinking of getting some DM's, I got mine from Cloggs. With cashback, a code from here and £10 cheaper than the DM's site, I saved around £20 :T

P.S just seen your last post re Victorian Floral. If those are the 8 hole black ones with pink flowers on them http://store.drmartens.co.uk/p-5413-dr-martens-1460-w-boot.aspx, they are definately canvas and quite thin too. If you are near Leeds, they have opened an DM's store so you can get a better idea. Schuh (I think thats the spelling) now have more choice in DM's too.

My Mum and Sister have just got these http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/Equestrian/Women/Footwear+and+Chaps/Wellies+and+Muckers/Derby+House+Adults+Thermal+Long+Boots_556-0023.htm

I tried my mums on today and I must admit I am tempted as they are lovely and warm and really comfy! They do seem to come up quite generous in size as I am usually a 5 in boots and my Mums were a 4 and fitted me and I had thick socks on - HTH!

I want them! My usual boots are leaking! :(

jenniewb, I do like the look of snowjoggers, especially the Rubberduck brand ones. I'd definitely be wanting a somewhat plain black pair so they go with most things though. Typically I vaguely remember a Rubberduck snowjogger grabbit a while ago- I think it was in the summer though so I wasn't ready to think about winter footwear!

    QUOTE]

I stupidly bought a pair of snowjoggers recently (these ones) and am bitterly disappointed with them. They are the biggest waste of money. They look ok and they are warm and cosy BUT absolutely deadly in snow. There is not enough depth of tread on the soles and within a few steps the snow has hard packed on the sole and you are sliding everywhere.

I think they are only suitable on non snow roads and pavements and there is no way I will risk wearing them again in snow. In fact given that I've only worn them once they may be going on ebay.

I specifically bought them as wellies aren't the warmest thing so I thought these would be better. they may be warmer but it's not worth risking broken bones to wear them

dontone- yup those are the ones! Beautiful but I see little point in buying so much for a canvas shoe. You'd only be able to wear it in perfect weather! I saw a review where someone pointed out you can't wear them in either.

Yours are lovely! I think I saw a pair going on eBay earlier. I love the plainish Dr Marten boots with an interesting detail to them like that. Makes them easier to wear with different outfits but they still stand out!

I have fallen in love with these:
    http://www.scorpioshoes.com/womens-3/boots-11/mid-calf-boots-59/martens-norah-womens-leather-eyelet-flower-28864.htm?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=28864&utm_campaign=froogle

Wearable colour, 14 eyelet and they have a zip :D Not to mention the cute floral design on the side. The cheapest I've found them is £90 so I'll keep a look out on Schuh and Cloggs and hope they go down in price a bit. I got my last pair of Docs from Cloggs at a great price but they were the really long Docs, and all the lacing and unlacing drove me mad.

scottishminnie- thanks for letting me know! I'm glad I didn't take advantage of that Grabbit now  Hopefully you can resell them and get most of your money back- I know celebs wear them so some people are probably likely to buy them regardless of how impractical they are!

I think they look great for the snow (but am into a sort of battered old leather meets long wool coat style so they really would look odd on me :() I would worry about how they clean up after being in mud though- water resistant yes, but stain resistant? hmmmmm, mud comes in all shades of brown so its not really as if you can get a mud colour and prevent any mud marks mattering. I'd also worry about my feet over heating in the summer.

The offers are annoying when they are out of season, just like so many companies at the moment offering the fitflop sandles for vast discounts! Its annoying as no one has the money for them, aside from trying to get decent warm footware and clothes, we're all going to have huge heating bills!

I have these Doc Martens and they are so very very comfortable. I love them. I wear them under bootleg jeans, I wear them with dresses too (thick tights though!). I have worn them when tearing down our bedroom wall and they just polished up lovely. They are true all rounder boots :)http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dr-Martens-comfy-black-ladies-boot-w-floral-pattern-3-9_W0QQitemZ150405895041QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=188921162315&rvr_id=188921162315&cguid=946f99fc12c0a0aa17325af2fdaa81b1
