Credit card in credit

I called MINT the other day as I was £125 in credit with them!! I'd paid some money to them a while back by mistake when it was meant for another credit card company. Anyway without boring you with detail the other card company is taken care of. So I spoke to MINT and they're sending me a cheque. I told them to close the account too. How satisfying to do so. I have another £600 to go with A&L and will be telling them where to stick their credit card too once that is paid off. I love the question, "Why do you want to close your account?" Answer: "Because you are crettins, now get out my face." Unfortunately I have £12K still with Lloyds Mastercard and £500with Marbles plus A&L as mentioned, plus overdrafts on two accounts of around £3K each.(Marbles sent me a load of credit card cheques a month a go. I queried this and the lady on the telephone said it was another department. Fair dos to her but these companies make enough money to invest in a system that says not to send credit card cheques to people who they are engaged with and know have had a spot of money difficulties. Vering on negligence on their part.) They will be going off my Christmas card list too. Anyway, I'm able to now meet minimum repayments and more. It was nice the other day to buy some clothes as mine were a bit threadbare. Cash only of course. Effectively £18K still to go but it's getting easier. Just had an offer on a new mortgage deal with my lender so will be paying £915 pcm fixed for 2 years instead of the variable scale which kicks in in January (£1080  ) I'm 41 and am grateful to still have time on my side to beat all this crap.

I think these posts are so encouraging! Here's someone who is determined to get out of debt and will do what needs to be done, and get rid of card after card :TBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
