Hi,
Does anyone know who delivers for hermes inverness area, parcel tracking tells me its out for delivery since friday. Im waiting for 3 parcels 2 are from mandmdirect and one from toy r us. Hermes wont speak to me and the other companies just tell me there are delays.
They dont seem to have a depot up here so i think they must subcontract.
Anyone got a clue?

Well, there are delays, not sure what the weather is like there, but the whole country has been in a massive parcel backlog from all couriers. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Hermes have depots in Dundee, Edinburgh, & Chapelhall Nr Airdrie, they deliver all goods to couriers homes, and then the couriers deliver them to the customers in there own cars, they have warehouses full of parcels which I have heard will not be delivered for xmas. Because of the size of the lorries (7.5 ton), at this time of year the vans are full to capacity every day and because of the backlog they will not be able to catchup, (they are also delivering catalogues for Grattan/Freemans before xmas, and Next Directories after xmas) which also must go on the lorries every day due to the high volumes of customers, Hermes bought over the delivery network from Grattan/Freemans last year, it used to be called Parcelnet......
Your parcels will be delivered from the Dundee Depot, to the courier/couriers in inverness.
My mum was expecting flowers to be delivered last Friday by Hermes, they turned up today (Tuesday) and they were put in the bucket as they were all dead......
I worked for Parcelnet for about 18 years, and I hope your parcels arrive for xmas.0 -
Although true that all couriers have strugglerd to deliver parcels due to weather, xmas etc, the only company who have failed spectacularly for me is Hermes.
They've had my parcel 'out for delivery' since 9th December 2010, hmmm.
There's been no attempted/failed delivery either. It has just entered the Bermuda triangle for parcels that obviously exists between Nuneaton and Essex (who have hardly had the worst of the 'adverse weather conditions!!)0 -
We had two parcels from Hermes last week, we are at Kinloss so not sure if it's the same for you at Inverness but our parcels usually come from depots at Inverness. They were not delivered in a Hermes van, it was a small (slightly bigger than a car) plain white van, it did not say anything on the side at all. It took about 2 weeks for the order to come in total and it said out for delivery for 2-3 days before it actually arrived. It was almost a week after the e-mail saying it would be delivered within 2 days. I hope you get your items in time for Christmas.0

I am in Buckie and still waiting for 2 Amazon orders. Phoned today and they are sending replacements. The back orders from the last lot of snow are still in a warehouse down south somewhere. :mad:0

Hope you got all your outstanding orders. Have to agree Hermes have not been that good in our area either. I had stuff ordered from debenhams stuck before the snow even started along with Next.I did get everything in the end although I will be battling with debenhams over items I had to pay for before they arrived. unlike a debit card I wasn't going to pay for it as I certainly wouldn't want to be in credit by £100 when everything got sent back for being too late.
When i did get to met my hermes delivery man he was new and had just taken over .I did feel sorry for him as he had been totally overwhelmed and had to get other delivery drivers for B an Q tio help. i had items being delivered on a Sunday.
hope he comes back with 2 outstanding orders when I am in cos I have lots to go back!!!I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0
