Debit Card Payment in Aldi's not taken off account.

I used my debit card in Aldi's yesterday and usually when I use my card, the amount would come off my available balance straight away.
The money hasn't come off my available balance, does anyone know if Aldi's work differently or if they don't process payments at the weekend until the monday?
Im watching the pennies, so would rather it came off straight away iyswim.

With Aldi and Lidl it can take 3-4 days to debit from your account .0

Sometimes, if they have some sort of computer problem, the payment actually comes through as 'not authorised', and they are taking a chance on it going through later.
Made me think I was going to be done as a shoplifter or something when I saw it on the PDQ machine, but they reassured me it was fine.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

did this to me last week at Aldis it came out about 4 days later.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j0

Its not the retailer that does it its the bank. The retailer instantly gets a code back from the bank via the PDQ terminal .This guarentees them the money,Its then upto your bank to debit your account by the value and in some cases they can take as some one said two months to do so.Just leave the money in as it will come out even if this overdraws you and you would be liable for all charges etc.Leave it in they have up 2 3 months to take it!! This happened with paypal for me th other day, too. I went OD because I didn;t realise it hadn't gone through. I just assume it goes out immediately. Maybe it's to do with the volume of traffic at the moment???0

I've been charged for a transaction that took months to leave the account and sent me overdrawn a few years back. Really annoying.0
