10 across: (this is one part of another crossword clue - it's got 10/13 so one part of the answer will be for 10 across and the other part for 13 across)

Dramatic monologue written as a traditional rhyming poem by George R Sims in 1879 (9, 3, 2, 3, 9)

29 across: (this is also one parts of another clue 29/37)

Plant of the genus Aster with small autumn-blooming flowers (10, 5)

44 across: (at last a normal one :rotfl:)
June 24, the feast of st John the Baptist (10, 3)

Good luck.

  • Don't know what the connection is but the answers are :

1 Christmas Day in the Workhouse

    2 Michaelmas Daisy

    3 Midsummers Day

Hope that's of some use to someone.
    Robbie.
  • I don't think the answer is this simple, but they are all Quarter Days. Christmas, Michaelmas, Midsummers Day and the missing one is Lady Day. The only thing putting me off this answer is the Daisy bit. :) Can't find anything more apt as yet.
Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

he only thing putting me off this answer is the Daisy bit. :) Can't find anything more apt as yet.

I think the Daisy bit belongs to 37 across as that's only 5 letters ;) so let's disregard Daisy.
