warning: making heating pads with pie weights

if anyone's seen the instructions on Martha Stewart's site for making microwaveable heating pads, using ceramic pie weights - do check that the pie weights are microwaveable...

i spent £3 on a box and just tried them out.. they sparked inside the microwave, definetly NOT safe to use!!!

   waste of £3!!!!

yup a friend pointed me towards the rice idea, which i'm going to do, mixed with dried lavender and some lavender oil to make it smell nice.

i'm just annoyed that i spent £3 for nothing, and wanted to warn anyone else who might stumble across that site.

    thanks for the tip tho!
