How much to retire on and how to get it ?

Yes Patanne, I have been receiving state pension since I became 60. I never earned more than £17K before I decided to train as an ADI at age 59. I did that (at a cost of £4K and no student grant <g>) to be able to keep on working after retirement age to boost my savings. At first I was working 60 hours a week so don't want to do as getmore4les suggested and spend any of that to get benefits just to exist, rather than enjoy retirement.
I think my best option is to see the IFA. They suggested to make an appointment 3 months before the Pru pension matures in May 2011.
Please can dunstonh explain what the proposed fees means. "minimum client setup fee is £450, In addition, for recommendations and implementation our fees are on a time costed basis (£150 p/h)
That sounds like they want £450 to put my details into their system (I have a spreadsheet of my assets for them) then £150/hr to find me an annuity and do the paperwork to put it into action. Is that what happens?0
