Daughter invited to play on Christmas Eve

My daughter has a schoolfriend who's mother has invited us to there house on Friday morning... I accepted but have just realised when popping it on the calender that its Christmas Eve....! Eeek!

Ive known the mum since our meeting her at Bumps and Babies when i was pregnant, and although i talk to her alot, i have only been to her house once and that was for a book party with others, Elivia has often been to play there.

We have no plans for the morning as Daddy wont get home from work till about 2 and dont want to start our festivities without him. I feel that as i have accepted i can't disappoint the children - we are between us busy every other day this week.

I feel as if i cant turn up on Christmas Eve without taking a gift but i dont want to embaress myself or the other mum! HELP!! Our daughters are both 5 and the other mum has a 7m baby (ours is 4m) Should i take an activity for the girls to do together, or a selection box (organix do a finger foods one for the baby), or a bottle of wine & chocs - or do i do nothing?

  • I would go and just come home for your oh coming home. I shouldnt think she would be expecting you to bring anything. Its allway nice though if you go somewhere to take something, some sweets or cakes for the children and somethings for the babys would be fine.
