If most of your basic needs are covered by the two state pensions,which are index linked/escalated, then there would be no need to even consider a poor value private sector index linked annuity.Trying to keep it simple...

Worth remembering that:
- Index linking doesn't index link for economic growth, so relying on it means you fall steadily behind the rising wealth of the rest of the population.
- Even index linking alone is expected to require a 30% increase in the proportion of GNP spent on state pensions.
