chocolate/cake christmas tree

Is there a thread on these? It's a stack of star or square shapes you place each layer at a different angle so that the finished stack looks christmas tree-y. Then you decorate how you want
I really want to make one for my parents but I couldn't give my dad that much chocolate and thought plain old sponge might be a bit dull.
I was thinking shortbread - keeps a while, scone, nice and plain, pretty sure it can be frozen and white chocolate brownies for the indulgence factor. I also have a rice crispie recipe that would do for a trunk but going to see how my star shapes look/balance first.
I've also gone with these three things as the finished tree will be all white so a little decoration will be effective.
Has anyone else see them or had a go?

they are always made from biscuit, shortbread is best, on top is either roll out icing, royal icing or you could use melted chocolate0

Thanks for the link, I found a site the other day that was a big rectangle cake cut down into lots of squares then stacked at angles, that looked good and the one on kirsties christmas was just all chocolate, I don't think I could have that much chocolate and be productive with it!0
