Freezing French Bread? ? ?

Hi all - might sound like a strange question but will fresh French bread be ok to freeze?
Only reason i ask is that we want fresh bread on Christmas Day, therefore i was going to get some French sticks and Pain de Campagne Longue or Batards, etc...
Will it be fairly fresh if i were to put it in the freezer as soon as i got back from the shop, and then used on Christmas Day?
Thanks all.

Yes it'll be fine, cut into sections, wrap each in clingfilm. It doesn't keep very long, a week or so. If I buy a French stick I freeze bits like this even just overnight.0

Why don't you buy the part baked ones, they do all varieties.0

well the part baked baguettes arent called french baguettes, they are small baguettes somtimes 2 in a pack and sold with the bread items eg rolls etc in the supermarkets,0 -

When u go to reheat it just sprinkle it with water and pop into a hot oven for a few minutes. This will give u fresh crusty bread again!!0

the only thing worth freezing is french bread, the rest of the products come in frozen and are re-heated, the quality is not going to be very good if they are refrozen again0
