    Actually, come to think of it, this is our 3rd 25kg sack of rice and we've never had 'visitors' in them. Takes us a couple of months to get through a sack. Maybe we were just lucky.
    I have had 'visitors' in a small bag of wheat grains from the healthfood shop though. Go figure!

    Thanks for all those suggestions - just those dried porcini mushrooms to go. They're great when you don't really have much of anything in - make a risotto from them and add a bit of whatever else you might have even peas from the freezer.

    The last lot I bought were a bulk purchase the last time we went to Italy but we've run out now :cry:

    Any ideas?

    Yes, me!
    I buy them from my local deli, which is much cheaper than the supermarket with a better selection. I think it's £1.95 for 100g. I always seem to get the end of the jar, so he chucks a few extra bits as well!

    I tend to buy arborio rice when it's on offer in the supermarket.
