What's the situation with re-using all these pre-franked envelopes that comes with junk mail - can they be recycled for free postage merely by adding a new label.
I've done it occasionally in the past as revenge on the junkmailers but it is acceptable to the Royal Mail?? your advice welcome

Thats fair enough but I think the OP is talking about using the envelopes to use to send things to people other than the mailer for free....?
Sending it back where it came from is fine.0 -
I stick a label over the return address and just stick a stamp on.
Everything has been received at destination ok.0 -
if you use these to send back to the person or company addressed its ok.. if you use the envelope with a new label and put a stamp on its ok, but it you put a label on and say send it to granny and dont put a stamp on the chances are that the person receiving the envlope will have to pay for excess postage,, its happened to meThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -

I wouldnt advise you place a label over the address and repost the envelope as you can if royal mail wanted to be prosecuted for fraud its the same as if you use the royal mail printing if you use the postage more than one you can also get prosecuted so be careful as people have been prosecuted before for doing it.
You have been warned.0 -

If your clever with a PC & can print Envelopes... think about it
Fraud? :rolleyes:0 -
You won't get done for fraud, but unless you add postage, the recipient will be surcharged which comes to a lot more than standard postage, as there is a £1.20 (I think that's what it is now) handling charge on top of the postage.0

Just a thought, but what if you placed a piece of sellotape over the stamp (for certain adhesion) Then you could wipe it clean.0
