Identify theft someone keeps applying for loans

Hi,
An elderly relative of 92 rang me this morning in a blind panic, saying she had been called up by 2 Loan companies Churchhill financials and Yes Loans regarding her loan applications she had made online. My relative 100% did not make these applications and the concerning thing is who ever did had given my relatives telephone number which seems very odd, so someone has nicked her identity. Since this morning she has recieved further calls from loan companies so whoever is doing it is applying for more so I need to stop it urgently.
Anyway Im not sure what to do now, I need to check what other loans have been applied for that we don't know about yet, I know I can check the credit files for her but there is 3 credit agencies, do I need to sign up with all 3 to check what other searches have been done or is there something I can register with that will check all 3 ?
Also I read that you can get a flag on your credit files so if anyone runs a check they have to ring you first, again is this something I need to register with all credit agencies to do ? I read about csfi and that I should resgister the issue with them but there is no telephone number they only seem to take letters.
Appreciate any advice people can give me on the matter and whats the best way to sort the following things quickly,
1. Check all credit agencies records they have for her ?
2. How to get it flagged with the credit agencies fraud is happening ?
Cheers

1. Agree, check the records held at all 3 CRAs.
2. Have a look at this website: http://www.cifas.org.uk/ A marker can be added to your relative's credit file, preventing any further applications without her express permission. (by password)Best Regards

credit agencies can also set up a password onto her file so when a legitimate credit application is made by her they contact her for her password, i had to do this myself, it's a bit inconvenient but i does the trick0

I don't know whether it's worth your relative telling them on the phone that she beleives she has been victim of fraud and asking for their advice?
You probably also want to draft a letter for her to sign and send saying that she is a victim of fraud.
I'm not sure whether you would report it to the police - they may be able to provide some support/advice? although the crime is against the loans people not your relative.
Perhaps ringing National Debtline (or check their website )or CCCS for advice or your local CAB.
Good Luck - it sounds like a nightmare.

Thanks for everyones replies.
When you got the pw set up with the agencies did you have to sign up for it and pay the monthly / yearly fees ? I don't mind paying if I have to but they all seem to be about £60 - £70 each x 3 = £210, I wouldnt mind avoiding this if possible.

As stated in my original reply, CIFAS are the organisation you need to apply through. CIFAS reports to all three credit reference agencies, and charges £14.10 per year.Best Regards

Thanks zppp she registered over the phone this morning.
Got to say one of the companies involved is Yes Loans LTD, didnt know much about them until I googled them and then spoke to them, and all I can say is OMG there are the most un-professional organisation I have dealt with ! Even when telling them the application is fraudlelent they just said 'nothing' could be done, after talking to some guy for 5mins he then pipes up and says 'look mate I'm just the IT guy' then cuts me off.0
